The Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining software applications in support of enterprise related business processes.  Works with user departments to find solutions to problems with existing software and to design and create new applications.  Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.  Position demonstrates sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions while networking with senior internal and external resources.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Work with a variety of internal and external customers to find answers to questions regarding missing or invalid data/transactions
  • Collaborate with supporting consulting companies to request software changes in response to requests from internal or external business resources.
  • Provide sample data and/or test cases to assist external consulting companies or internal business resources in the diagnosing of error situations
  • Research, design, document, configure, implement and support standard or customized software processes to allow for the electronic exchange of data via interfaces or transfer protocols to internal or external databases
  • Establish credentials in FTP utility to allow business partners to upload or download data files
  • Provide technical support in design and programming for IT personnel, as required
  • Act as a Project Manager for assigned tasks while accurately reporting to IT Management and to project stakeholders the project status, milestones, and goals, as well as leading presentations as necessary
  • Prepare flowcharts, programmer documentation, system test plans and data conversion requirements

The ideal candidate must possess an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related major from an accredited college or university; additional years’ experience can be substituted in lieu of an undergraduate degree.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Minimum three plus (3+) years of related IT developer experience required. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of EDI processes
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of varied programming codes including Visual Basic, Groovy, and C# for code diagnosis and correction
  • Knowledge of Crystal and Hubble/Insight reporting tools
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards Object Management Workbench (OMW) programming tools.
  • Knowledge of Oracle business service tools and/or Electronic File Transfer protocols and the tools which support them.
  • Knowledge of interfaces and the middleware required to develop them
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and practice effective organizational skills
  • Have strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees, management, and customers
